Permanent Mission Bahrain Updates UN on Iranian Aggression with Seventh Letter

New york: The Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations has sent a seventh letter to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council, addressing the ongoing Iranian aggression against Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the letter emphasized that these actions by Iran represent a violation of Bahrain's sovereignty and territorial integrity and pose a threat to regional and international security. The correspondence highlighted Iran's disregard for the UN Charter, international law, and Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2817 (2026), which was endorsed by 136 UN Member States.

The letter detailed the latest developments in the aggression that began on 28 February 2026, noting that Bahrain has been subjected to missile and drone attacks targeting infrastructure and residential areas. Official reports revealed that Bahrain's defense systems have intercepted over 140 missiles and 240 drones, reducing potential harm.

Significant incidents included attacks on energy facilities and residential areas, resulting in civilian casualties and damage. The letter underlined these attacks' indiscriminate nature, violating international law and threatening civilian safety.
