Pakistani President decorates National Guard Commander with military medal

President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi decorated National Guard Commander, General His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa with the Medal of Excellence. The honor was conferred in an official ceremony held in Pakistan’s Presidential Palace in Islamabad to honor an elite of senior officers of the Pakistani Army marking the Republic Day.

The celebration was attended by ministers, senior officials and senior officers of the Pakistani Army, including mainly Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir.

An official statement by the Presidential Palace revealed that the Pakistani President bestowed the high military medal on General HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa in tribute for his distinguished efforts to further boost fraternal relations between both countries mainly in the military field.

The National Guard Commander hailed the honor from the Pakistani leadership, expressing thanks to the Pakistani President and people.

General HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa is currently on an official visit to Pakistan at an invitation by Gen. Asim Munir to participate as a “guest of honor” in Pakistan’s celebrations of its Republic Day which is observed on March 23.
