Pakistani Army Kills Seven Militants in Balochistan Operation


Balochistan: The Pakistani army announced today that seven militants were killed during a security operation in Balochistan province, southwest of the country, based on intelligence reports.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the operation took place in the Sherani area, where an exchange of fire led to the deaths of the militants. Weapons, ammunition, and explosives in their possession were seized. The militants had been involved in previous armed activities. The forces also carried out a clearance operation to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements.



Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the success of the operation, reiterating their determination to eradicate terrorism from the country. The operation comes amid a rise in armed attacks in Pakistan, particularly in border regions with Afghanistan such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
