Pakistan mourns Greece boat tragedy deaths

Pakistan on Monday observed a day of mourning for the tragic deaths of Pakistani migrants in the ship sinking incident near the coast of Greece last week, with around 750 people on board including Pakistanis.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the nation will observe the day of mourning on Monday and the national flag kept hoisting at half-mast today and special prayers were offered for the deceased. He also formed a four-member committee to probe the facts of the incident and directed law enforcement agencies to trace those involved in human smuggling.

According to reports, over 300 Pakistani nationals were onboard the boat that capsized about 80 kilometers off Greece’s southern town of Pylos.
