Manama:Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, announced the successful return of over 90% of families to their homes following repairs, highlighting the effectiveness of government efforts in response to emergency situations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized the role of coordination among relevant authorities and direct field follow-up in accelerating damage assessments and completing repair and rehabilitation work. This progress was in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the orders of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to compensate citizens affected by Iranian attacks.
Minister Al Rumaihi detailed the coordinated process undertaken by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning with the Ministry of Works and other government entities, which involved assessing damage, identifying the needs of affected families, and completing repair work. Families were then enabled to return to their homes or provided with alternative housing options.
She noted the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's personal involvement, including field visits to damaged homes in Sitra and Hidd, demonstrating a commitment to monitoring repair efforts and addressing the needs of affected families. The results, she said, underscored the effective coordination among government bodies and the swift transition from assessment to implementation.
The minister assured that the ministry would continue to build on this progress to further enhance the housing sector's efficiency and responsiveness to future challenges.
