On World Anti-Drug Day… Al-Hakim urges the building of a regional security system to confront it and limit drug trafficking operations

The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, urged the building of a regional security system to confront the scourge of drugs and limit drug trafficking operations.

Al-Hakim said in a statement on the occasion of World Anti-Drug Day: Drugs and psychotropic substances represent an imminent danger that threatens peoples now and in the future. On World Day to combat this scourge, we urge building a regional security system to confront it and limit trafficking operations, in addition to exchanging information on how to confront this silent terrorism.

Al-Hakim called for the completion of the necessary legislation to combat this dangerous phenomenon for society, especially young people, and the need for prevention to go hand in hand with treatment. He also urged complementarity in performance at the parliamentary, judicial and executive levels and for the involvement of local governments in the combat file, distinguishing between traffickers and drug users and for prisons not to turn into Places to
prepare traders.
