Ombudswoman Meets Serbian Ambassador to Discuss Human Rights and Cooperation

Manama: Ombudswoman Ghada Hameed Habeeb recently welcomed Tatjana Garcevic, the Ambassador of Serbia to Bahrain, to discuss various aspects of cooperation and human rights initiatives.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting served as an opportunity to review the Ombudswoman's mandate and its role in serving the public. The discussions highlighted the office's contribution to promoting respect for human rights within the criminal justice system, underscoring its specialised role in this area.

The meeting also delved into the Ombudsman Office's international cooperation activities. Particular focus was given to its engagement with diplomatic missions in Bahrain, aiming to explore potential areas for collaboration in training, capacity-building, and knowledge exchange.

The Ombudswoman expressed optimism about the potential for strengthened cooperation between Bahrain and Serbia, emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue and partnership in these key areas.
