Omani-Brunei Joint Committee Explores Means of Boosting Cooperation


Muscat: The Omani-Brunei Joint Committee convened for its fourth meeting to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation in the economic, investment, and cultural sectors between the two nations.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting examined trade and investment relations and discussed strategies to promote mutual interests. Key areas of focus included the exchange of expertise in writing and developing curricula, mechanisms for drafting school books, and career guidance programs. Additionally, both parties emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in student guidance programs, health awareness initiatives, and analyzing labor market trends and future needs.



The committee reached an agreement to bolster the exchange of scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. This includes supporting the exchange of students and academics between higher education institutions in Oman and Brunei Darussalam. Furthermore, the meeting addressed facilitating information exchange on procedures for recognizing Omani higher education institutions by Brunei authorities, enhancing cooperation in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, and organizing direct bilateral programs between higher education institutions in both countries. The discussions also highlighted leveraging Brunei Vision 2035 in the fields of lifelong learning and private education.
