Duqm:Oman's Etlaq Spaceport in Duqm has successfully conducted a test launch of the Azad Dreamer rocket as part of the Karman X1 mission.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the 4.3-meter-long rocket, weighing 26 kilograms, achieved a stable ascent and transmitted flight data back to the spaceport's control center. The rocket reached its targeted altitude within the test range, with the mission focusing on testing launch procedures, in-flight performance, and related technologies and systems, rather than reaching space.
This launch marks the second successful mission from Etlaq Spaceport, following the Duqm-1 launch in December 2024. The Karman X1 mission is a part of the Takween programme, which was initiated in 2024 to support suborbital and experimental rocket launches.
