Oil Minister, UNDP Resident Representative Discuss Cooperation

Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, received Asmaa Shalabi, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Bahrain. Dr. Bin Dainah affirmed the Kingdom's commitment to working closely with the UN and its specialised agencies to enhance environmental sustainability, optimise natural resource use, and support global efforts for a more sustainable future.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister commended the UNDP's role in supporting Bahrain's development and highlighted the UNDP Draft Country Programme Document for Bahrain (2025 - 2029) as a key roadmap for advancing national sustainable development efforts. He also stressed the importance of innovation and digital transformation in environmental protection and the private sector's role as a key partner in achieving sustainability goals.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in environmental sustainability and development to support inclusive and diversified growth in line with Bahrain's development objectives.
