Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, met with Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), on the sidelines of Climate Week 2025. The meeting emphasized Bahrain’s dedication to collaborating with the UNFCCC Secretariat in preparation for COP30 to bolster global efforts in addressing climate change and advancing Sustainable Development Goals.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. bin Daina commended the Secretariat’s role in enhancing cooperation among member states and advancing collective climate action. The discussions between the two parties explored opportunities to broaden cooperation in climate-related sectors, coordinate on initiatives and programmes to further the Paris Agreement, and share perspectives on expediting the global shift to a sustainable green economy.
