Manama: Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Dinah, Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, received Hussein Ali Al Qahtani, Chairman of the Gulf Downstream Association (GDA). The meeting focused on cooperation and coordination in areas of common interest, and explored ways to enhance the exchange of expertise and knowledge in the refining, petrochemicals, and downstream industries sectors.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister highlighted the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation with specialised institutions and entities. He stressed the need to support events and initiatives that contribute to the exchange of experiences and expertise, while keeping up to date on the latest developments and trends in the energy sector.
The minister praised the activities and events organised by the GDA, acknowledging its role in enhancing communication and the exchange of expertise and knowledge among specialists and professionals. This, he noted, contributes to the development and growth of the vital sector across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The meeting also addressed preparations for the fourth edition of the International Downstream Conference and Exhibition (IDCE), which is set to be held in the Kingdom next year. Issues related to cooperation were reviewed during the discussion.
For his part, Al Qahtani expressed appreciation for Bahrain's support to the GDA in organising its activities and events.
