Manama: Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of the National Space Science Agency (NSSA), participated as a keynote speaker at the launch of the AstroAid Foundation, a non-profit organisation representing over 53 countries. The foundation provides advanced healthcare access worldwide through the innovative use of space technologies.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Aseeri highlighted AstroAid's focus on utilising space technologies to enhance global healthcare systems. He noted that the foundation's mission focuses on enhancing healthcare access in resource-limited areas by advancing telemedicine with satellite support, providing data for disease surveillance, monitoring environmental health, and delivering rapid emergency response solutions.
The CEO stated that the NSSA's selection to participate as a keynote speaker reflects Bahrain's position as a leader in utilising space data and imagery to support various sectors and achieve sustainable development goals.
The NSSA participated in over 124 scientific events last year, showcasing the expertise of its members in space sciences and their applications.
