Manama: Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of the National Space Science Agency (NSSA), said that the successful launch of the Kingdom of Bahrain's Al Munther satellite into orbit represents a major milestone in the Kingdom's advancement in the space sector. He commended the achievement of Bahrain's NSSA team in successfully reaching orbit and initiating the satellite's initial operational phase, including in-orbit system testing.
According to Bahrain News Agency, on this occasion, Dr. Al Aseeri extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces; His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister; and Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council.
Dr. Al Aseeri highlighted that the support of His Majesty the King, along with the continuous follow up by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has been the driving force behind NSSA's achievements. This support has strengthened the agency's position in the space sector and created opportunities for future projects that enhance Bahrain's national pride. He also commended the guidance of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, whose backing motivates NSSA personnel to develop advanced knowledge and skills, forming the foundation of Bahrain's specialised expertise in the space industry.
Dr. Al Aseeri emphasised that Al Munther is unique as it was designed and built entirely in Bahrain by Bahraini talent. The NSSA team developed its payloads, leaving a distinct national imprint on the fast-growing global space industry. He added that this achievement aligns with Bahrain's vision to position itself among leading nations in the space sector. He also noted that NSSA's projects contribute to meeting national needs in line with the government's plan, Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
In conclusion, Dr. Al Aseeri expressed appreciation to the NSSA Board of Directors, led by Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, for their continued support, as well as to all NSSA personnel for their dedication to advancing space sciences in Bahrain.
