NPRA Undersecretary Inaugurates Training Course on Advanced Border Security System

Manama: Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), inaugurated a training course on the advanced border security system, organised by the NPRA in cooperation with SITA, a company specialised in information and communication technology solutions for the air transport sector. Shaikh Hisham highlighted that the course is part of ongoing efforts to develop the ministry personnel's capabilities and increase operational efficiency at border checkpoints.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Hisham stated that the training course is a continuation of a series of programmes designed to qualify staff working at border checkpoints in line with technological advancements in border security and passenger management. These initiatives are part of the ministry's strategy to enhance service quality and achieve digital transformation in work systems.

He further explained that the new system will utilise artificial intelligence technologies to analyse passenger data and identify potential risk indicators in advance. This approach aims to expedite verification procedures and improve the overall travel experience. Shaikh Hisham emphasised the NPRA's commitment to adopting smart solutions that facilitate seamless travel and digital transformation, thereby strengthening the Kingdom of Bahrain's position as a leading centre for smart travel systems.
