NPRA Undersecretary Chairs Anti-Violence and Addiction Committee Meeting

Manama: Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) and Chairman of the Anti-Violence and Addiction Committee, presided over a significant meeting of the committee.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting welcomed attendees including Ali Ameeni, Director of Crime Prevention, the Director of the "Maan" (Together) programme against violence and addiction, along with other committee members. During the meeting, the NPRA Undersecretary acknowledged the members for their dedication in implementing the Maan programme. He highlighted the necessity of structured institutional work to enhance preventive initiatives and foster a secure educational and community environment.

The gathering focused on reviewing the outcomes of the Maan programme during the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year. This included examining awareness curricula, lectures, workshops, and interactive exhibitions conducted across educational institutions, as well as evaluating field results.

Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman stressed the need for further development of the Maan programme through an integrated institutional approach. This approach would combine strategic planning, quality management systems, and modern technologies to bolster preventive impact and support national efforts in promoting positive values and social stability.

The Director of Crime Prevention presented statistical results of the Civil Defence curriculum, noting that over 55,000 students at various educational levels had benefited from it. The meeting also reviewed preparations for the Maan security awareness exhibition in 2026 and the Maan cartoon initiative as part of efforts to expand community outreach.

The committee discussed the ongoing application of internationally recognised systems and practices, including the Information Security Management System aligned with ISO 27001 standards. This is aimed at enhancing data protection, strengthening information security controls, and ensuring institutional compliance.
