Manama: The Public Security Sports Association wrapped up the Police Open 3x3 Basketball Championship at Muharraq Club Sports Hall, attended by Inspector-General Major-General Abdullah Mohammed Al Zayed, along with several directors and officials from the Interior Ministry.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) team emerged victorious in the championship by defeating the Capital Governorate Police Directorate team with a close score of 21-20, marking a highly competitive final match.
Inspector-General Al Zayed emphasized that the Police Open Basketball Championship demonstrates the Interior Ministry's commitment to supporting sports activities among its personnel. This initiative aims to enhance cooperation and promote sport as a lifestyle, positively impacting professional performance.
Brigadier Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayyat, President of the Public Security Sports Association, stated that organizing this championship is part of the association's efforts to encourage sports within the police work environment and foster positive competition among ministry personnel.
The championship saw participation from 12 teams representing various Interior Ministry departments, along with several Bahraini national basketball players who took part as professionals, thereby reinforcing community partnership.
