NIHR President Discusses Human Rights Cooperation with Australian Ambassador

Manama: Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received Mark Lawrence Donovan, Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, resident in Riyadh. Dr. Malallah Al Hammadi, Head of the NIHR Committee on Detention and Facilities Visitation, was also present.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise in the field of human rights, along with discussing topics of common interest. Al Derazi provided an overview of the NIHR's efforts to promote and protect human rights in Bahrain. He explained the institution's monitoring mechanisms, visits to detention centres, and coordination with relevant official bodies.

The Australian Ambassador commended the NIHR's role in supporting human rights efforts and stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation and knowledge sharing in this crucial field.
