The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) participated in the Ninth Conference of Human Rights Officials of Arab Interior Ministries held under the theme “Best Practices, Challenges, and Cooperation Insights.”
The NIHR was represented by its Vice President, Khalid Abdulaziz Al Shaer.
The conference discussed challenges facing the ministries of interior and human rights institutions, as well as exchanging expertise to strengthen cooperation and overcome challenges in the human rights field.
Al Shaer reviewed the NIHR’s experience of visiting correctional institutions in Bahrain, and reviewed its best practices, experiences, and challenges.
He also highlighted a number of recommendations for strengthening cooperation in the protection of human rights, as well as raising awareness and training capacities.
