NIHR Delegation Reviews Conditions at Isa Town Women’s Reform and Rehabilitation Centre

Isa town: A delegation from the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Board of Commissioners conducted a field visit to the Women's Reform and Rehabilitation Centre in Isa Town, to review the conditions of inmates and ensure that their rights are safeguarded in line with national legislation and relevant international standards. During the visit, the delegation examined the conditions of detention, met with inmates, and recorded their observations and requests for submission to the competent authorities.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation also toured the Centre's facilities to assess the level of health and social services provided, and to verify their compliance with national and international standards related to inmates' rights. The visit forms part of the NIHR's mandate under its establishing law.
