Sitra: A delegation from the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) conducted an inspection visit to the Coast Guard Detention Centre in Sitra to assess inmates' conditions and the extent to which their rights are upheld, in line with national legislation and relevant international standards.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation was briefed on the centre's role in safeguarding the rights and responsibilities of pre-trial detainees, along with an overview of the key procedures in place.
The visit also included a tour of the centre's various sections, including holding rooms, facilities, and services.
