NFIC CEO Chairs Anti-Money Laundering Committee Meeting

Manama: Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Financial Intelligence Centre (NFIC) and Chair of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Committee, chaired the Committee's seventh meeting, attended by Committee members and representatives of relevant entities.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed developments related to the Kingdom of Bahrain's joint mutual evaluation process conducted by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF).

The meeting also discussed the outcomes and recommendations of the technical compliance and national risk assessment teams, including updates on money laundering, terrorism financing, and proliferation financing risks.

The meeting forms part of the Committee's ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of the national framework and strengthen institutional mechanisms, reflecting the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to international standards in combating money laundering and terrorism financing.
