Manama: As part of the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Rana Ibrahim Faqeehi, CEO of the National Bureau for Revenue, chaired the 16th meeting of the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Departments in GCC countries.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Faqeehi underscored the importance of strengthening joint Gulf action and continuing coordination and integration to support the achievement of the economic objectives of the GCC states. She also highlighted the role of the flexibility and resilience of Gulf policies in addressing the repercussions of the malicious Iranian attacks on the countries of the region.
The meeting addressed topics related to the development of the tax system in GCC countries, most notably regulatory and legislative frameworks to enhance integration in electronic systems, in addition to reviewing the latest developments and relevant experiences at the regional and international levels. It also discussed coordination aspects of common interest among member states.
The meeting highlighted the role of such meetings as a strategic platform to continue the developmental achievements of this system that supports economic integration and enhances cooperation among the GCC states.
