Manama: Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the official activities of the National Sports Day are set to begin tomorrow at Bahrain Bay. His Highness is the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
According to Bahrain News Agency, more than 30 sporting activities and interactive events are scheduled to take place from the morning. These activities include team sports, open fitness sessions, competitions, and dedicated activities for children and families. Additionally, there will be awareness corners focused on promoting public health and physical activity.
The General Sports Authority has confirmed that all organisational preparations have been completed at Bahrain Bay. Open spaces have been equipped to accommodate a large number of participants, and supervisory teams have been assigned to ensure safety and smooth coordination.
The initiative aims to broaden community participation in sports and encourage citizens and residents to adopt physical activity as a daily practice. The Authority has extended an invitation to the public to join the open and free events.
The Government has designated Thursday, February 12, as a half working day for public sector employees to encourage participation in the Sports Day activities.
