Baghdad, National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji announced that the Syrian Al-Hol camp includes terrorists from 60 countries.
Al-Araji said at the Seventh Ambassadors Conference held in Baghdad for the period from November 4-8: “The Syrian Al-Hawl camp includes terrorists from 60 countries, most of them from Iraq and Syria, and 10,000 foreign terrorists.”
He pointed out: "Iraq took a wise decision, in the interest of Iraqi national security, to voluntarily transfer Iraqi nationals to Al-Jad'a camp and introduce them into integration and rehabilitation programs."
He stated: “We transported 11 patches for 1,567 families from Al-Hol camp and they entered Al-Jadaa camp for rehabilitation.”
He added: “We returned 900 Iraqi families from Al-Jadaa camp after completing rehabilitation and integration to their original areas.”
He confirmed that 2,945 Iraqis accused of terrorism were transferred to the Ministry of Interior for the purpose of being brought before the judiciary, and most of them were tried in accordance with Iraqi laws.
Al-Araji said: "We have a national intelligence council and joint coordination areas between the forces of the Ministry of Defense and the Peshmerga, all of which work in the interest of the country without any problems."
He explained: "We transferred all the Iranian opposition militants from their positions to remote areas, and the border forces and the Peshmerga entered and occupied those sites. The next stage is to place them in special and remote camps as well."
He stressed that the National Security Advisory distributed the intelligence work fields, to avoid overlap in tasks and powers.
He pointed out that there is great coordination between the National Security Advisory and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on important issues.
He concluded his speech, saying: “Our gateway to the world is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which reflects the true image of Iraq.”
