National Guard Conducts Cybersecurity Exercise to Bolster National Resilience

Manama: The National Guard executed a cybersecurity exercise organized by its Information Technology and Communications Division over two days, from 14 to 15 October. This initiative was undertaken following the directives of His Highness General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Commander of the National Guard.

According to Bahrain News Agency, General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, the National Guard Staff Director, stated that the exercise aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. It also reflects the ongoing efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, to enhance the Kingdom's cybersecurity resilience and safeguard its key sectors against the increasing risks of cyber threats.

General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud highlighted that the exercise was designed to test readiness and coordination in responding to simulated cyber incidents. It assessed the participants' ability to detect and contain threats, and aimed to enhance cooperation and knowledge-sharing among the teams. The exercise also served as an opportunity for participants to familiarize themselves with emerging attack methods and strengthen their technical and strategic skills.

The Chief of Staff praised the success of the exercise, acknowledging the professionalism and advanced capabilities of the National Guard's officers and personnel in managing complex cybersecurity operations alongside their tactical and command training.
