National competence-building training programme launched

Public Prosecutor Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al Bouainain announced the launch of the national training programme aimed at consolidating the competence of relevant parties concerned with protecting human rights rights.

The training scheme is being organized by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), in cooperation with the United Nations development Programme (UNDP), the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute (JLSI) and the Royal Academy of Police (RAP).

The opening ceremony was held at the Gulf Hotel, in the presence of Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Secretary-General Hala bint Mohammed Al Ansari, Social Development Minister Osama bin Ahmed Al Asfoor, Public Security Chief Lieutenant General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, UN Resident Coordinator Khaled El Mekwad and UNDP Resident Representatives Firas Gharaibeh.

Dr. Al Bouainain stressed Bahrain’s keenness on promoting human rights as cornerstone of sustainable development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

He stressed the importance of the training programme as part of efforts to implement Bahrain’s future vision to achieve the goals of the national human rights plan (2022-2026).

Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani hailed SIU’s dedicated efforts to foster the culture of human rights and guarantee the achievement of justice and equity.

Lt. Gen. Tariq Al Hassan said that the participation of the Ministry of Interior in this national training programme is part of the implementation of the national human rights plan (2022-2026). .
