Manama: Bahraini sport has achieved an unprecedented milestone after national basketball team player Muzamil Ameer became the first Bahraini and first player from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to be selected among international players for the 2026 NBA G League. Muzamil Ameer was selected eighth overall by the San Diego Clippers before being immediately traded to the Texas Legends of the Dallas Mavericks, one of the NBA's most established clubs, in a historic move that opens new horizons for Bahraini basketball and strengthens the Kingdom's presence on the global professional stage.
