Manama: The Muslim World League (MWL) welcomed the UN Human Rights Council's unanimous adoption of a resolution regarding the human rights repercussions resulting from the blatant and criminal Iranian attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkareem Al Issa, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organisation of Muslim Scholars, on behalf of the League's international councils, assemblies, and bodies, valued this fair position by the Human Rights Council. He commended the council's categorical condemnation of these blatant Iranian attacks, its demand for an immediate cessation, and the assurance of accountability, especially in light of the resulting gross violations and unprecedented grave repercussions on human rights, not only in the region but worldwide.
The Secretary-General reiterated the warning issued by the World Food Programme (WFP) that approximately 45 million additional people could fall victim to acute hunger because of this brutal and criminal aggression.
He reaffirmed that the unanimous adoption of the resolution sends a clear message to the Iranian regime of a unified international position rejecting and condemning its criminal attacks and their false pretexts.
