Municipalities Ministry Enhances Violation Notification Service with New Upgrades

Manama:The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, in collaboration with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), has upgraded its municipal violation notification service. This enhancement is a part of the government's ongoing efforts to improve service quality and streamline procedures.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the upgraded service features redesigned violation notices that clearly and concisely display key information. Users can now access violation details quickly by scanning a QR code. The service has transitioned to being fully electronic, with processes becoming automatic and immediate, and the service-level agreement (SLA) reduced by at least 25%. The application process is limited to a maximum of four steps. Additional improvements include a better user interface and experience, simplified procedures, upgraded systems, fast-track options, multiple service categories, and standardized service information across all channels.

Khalid Ali Al Jalahma, Director of Information Technology and Digital Transformation at the Ministry, emphasized that the service is now available electronically via the Ministry's website, www.mun.gov.bh. Users can enter the violator's personal identification number to view recorded violations and pay fines electronically through the Fast Payment Service. He noted that this upgrade is part of the Ministry's continuous efforts to develop electronic services, simplify procedures, and provide integrated services that align with digital transformation goals and enhance user experience.

In a broader context, the government's efforts to develop and re-engineer public services have resulted in more than 1,300 government services being documented, translated, and published. Of these, 800 services are undergoing development and re-engineering across various sectors. These initiatives incorporate proposals and feedback from the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investor feedback, and mystery shopper reports. The introduction of service guides and service-level agreements has contributed to more efficient procedures, improved service quality, better user experiences, and the advancement of government digital transformation.
