Manama: The joint committee between the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) convened for its regular meeting, focusing on enhancing collaboration for economic and urban development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and Sameer Abdulla Nass, Chairman of BCCI. Minister Al Mubarak emphasized the significance of reinforcing public-private partnerships to support developmental initiatives. He reiterated the government's commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to progress in development efforts.
Minister Al Mubarak pointed out the ongoing collaboration between the ministry and BCCI, particularly in urban development and municipal and agricultural services. He emphasized the need to enhance the issuance of construction permits for private-sector investment projects and expressed a desire to expand cooperation by refining regulatory frameworks in collaboration with BCCI and other relevant bodies.
Nass highlighted the BCCI's dedication to maintaining coordination with the ministry to bolster the business environment and economic growth in Bahrain. He stressed the importance of sustainable development and advancing national progress in line with the vision of His Majesty the King, supported by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Nass also noted the value of regular meetings as a crucial platform for dialogue and collaboration, aimed at fostering a prosperous and competitive future while improving service quality to meet community needs.
The meeting included discussions on upgrading and maintaining the Manama Central Market to boost service efficiency for consumers and vendors. Other topics covered included the Benayat building permit system, the new construction law, and the revised advertising law, all aimed at improving the business environment and facilitating investment procedures.
Additionally, the committee addressed the halal certification system, exploring ways to align it with international standards, among other topics designed to support economic sectors and enhance confidence in Bahrain's investment landscape.
