Manama: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, emphasized the importance of developing the livestock production sector to bolster food security in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He highlighted the necessity of enhancing national production capacity to achieve self-sufficiency and ensure the availability of food products at high standards.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister made these remarks during a visit to Delmon Poultry Company. He was accompanied by Asim Abdulatif Abdulla, Undersecretary for Agriculture Affairs and Animal Wealth. During the visit, Esam Abdulhameed Zainal, Chairman of Delmon Poultry, along with members of the executive management, welcomed the minister.
Al Mubarak underscored the significance of ongoing cooperation between the public and private sectors to support the growth of national companies. He stressed the need to increase and diversify local production, enhance market stability, and ensure the availability of food products.
He also mentioned the ministry's continuous efforts to introduce initiatives and develop policies aimed at supporting agricultural and livestock production. These efforts are intended to improve the efficiency of food supply chains.
During his visit, the minister reviewed the company's production processes, which focus on broiler chicken production. He was briefed on Delmon Poultry's expansion plans to increase production capacity, improve operational efficiency, and its future plans.
