Manama:Bahrain's Parliamentary Division has announced a strategic plan to bolster the Arab parliamentary scouting movement, emphasizing youth empowerment, volunteerism, and community service.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the strategy was introduced by MP Mohammed Jassim Al Alawi, head of the Bahraini delegation, at the Scouting Conference titled "The Scouting Movement Between Volunteerism and Economic Activity."
In his presentation, Al Alawi outlined a "Strategy for Developing the Arab Parliamentary Scouting Federation: Proposed Action Plan for 2027 - 2030," which aims to integrate parliamentary efforts with scouting and address issues concerning youth and children. The strategy is built around five main pillars: governance and management, legislation and public policy, youth participation and protection, capacity-building and communication, and partnerships and initiatives. It also proposes measures to enhance institutional governance, increase youth involvement, develop training programs, establish knowledge-sharing mechanisms, and execute measurable community service projects.
Additionally, Al Alawi suggested that Bahrain host the 20th General Assembly of the Arab Parliamentary Scouting Federation, creating avenues to foster cooperation, share expertise, and implement the federation's development goals into actionable projects that benefit youth and volunteerism.
The Bahraini delegation, which included MP Jalal Kazim Hassan and Shura Council member Redha Ibrahim Munfaredi, expressed Bahrain's dedication to supporting young people and volunteer work, aligning with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the backing of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The delegation also emphasized the commitment of Ahmed bin Salman Al Muslim, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Bahraini Parliamentary Division, to enhance Bahrain's parliamentary role in Arab scouting activities.
