Ministry of Transport postpones the opening of Baghdad International Airport to citizens


The Ministry of Transport announced, postponing the opening of Baghdad International Airport to citizens.

The Baghdad International Airport administration stated in a statement to the Ministry of Transport: ‘It was decided to postpone the opening of Baghdad International Airport to citizens, for technical reasons, which fall within the framework of our keenness to ensure the highest levels of safety and efficiency and achieve the highest levels of streamlined work at the airport,’ indicating that ‘with the continuation of the crowding plan for the pilgrims of the Holy House of God, it was decided to postpone the partial opening of the airport until the completion of the reverse transfer process, and the completion of the plans drawn up to open the airport, in cooperation with the concerned authorities.

It added: ‘In order to accomplish this mission and provide the necessary services to travelers, the new date for opening the airport will be announced as soon as it is determined.’
