Ministers inspect East Sitra Housing Project

Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) President, Ibrahim bin Hassan Al-Hawaj, Works Minister, Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Electricity and Water Affairs Minister, and Amna bint Ahmed Al-Romaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, have paid a visit to the East Sitra housing project, where they inspected the construction works and the infrastructure services provided there.

The ministers were informed about the progress of the construction of the housing units of the first and second phases, and followed up on plans to link the project to the main road network, as well as build sewage, electricity and water networks.

EWA President said that 80% of the electricity and water works for the first phase of the project had been completed, noting that the BD 23 million-network will be completed as soon as construction works have been finalised.

Works Minister asserted that efforts will continue to provide the necessary infrastructure for the new housing cities to cope with the urban development the kingdom is currently witnessing.

He indicated that the Works Ministry will establish the necessary exits to the East Sitra Housing Project, which is among the pioneering strategic project in the kingdom, establish the East Sitra Highway and link it to the main road networks.

Housing and Urban Planning Minister said that the implementation of first phase of the East Sitra Project, including 1077 units, is 90% complete, instructing the Ministry’s team to accelerate the pace of work to ensure that the units of the first phase are handed over according to schedule.
