Manama:Marsh, a leading global professional services firm, has announced plans to expand its capabilities in Bahrain by introducing captive insurance management services. This move will make Marsh the first international broker to offer such services in the Kingdom.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the announcement was made during the fourth edition of Gateway Gulf, held on November 1-2, 2026, at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay. The event, hosted by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), focused on 'Reimagining Global Partnerships, Powering Sustainable Growth'.
Marsh is strengthening its presence in the Gulf region, with operations in Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, providing risk management, insurance broking, and specialist advisory services. Marsh has previously been awarded captive insurance licenses in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Marcin Antosik, Captive Regional Leader for the Middle East at Marsh, will lead the captive services in Bahrain and the region.
Noor Al Haji, CEO of Marsh Bahrain and Kuwait, highlighted Bahrain's role as a well-regulated financial center and the region's economic diversification as key factors in this expansion. She emphasized that captive insurance is becoming a strategic tool for financial resilience amid complex risks in the GCC.
Dalal Buhejji, Executive Director of Financial Services at the Bahrain EDB, noted that Marsh's presence underscores Bahrain's strengths as a hub for international professional services, supported by a business-friendly environment and a robust financial sector.
Antosik expressed that Marsh's captive solutions are growing in the Gulf as clients seek sophisticated risk-financing options. The Gateway Gulf forum mirrors Bahrain's efforts to showcase investment opportunities and support businesses in developing new capabilities and serving regional markets.
