Madinah Red Crescent Handles Over 8,000 Ramadhan Emergencies

Madinah: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority's Madinah branch has reported handling over 8,000 emergency cases since the beginning of Ramadhan 1446 AH.

According to Bahrain News Agency, figures released by the branch on Saturday show that a total of 26,385 calls were received, leading to 8,411 ambulance responses. Out of these, 2,177 patients were treated on-site, while 2,489 were transported to medical facilities for further emergency medical care. The cases reported ranged from medical emergencies to accidents and episodes of fainting.

During the second quarter of Ramadhan, the branch mobilised 4,551 volunteers who collectively contributed 26,481 hours of emergency service at key locations such as the Prophet's Mosque and Quba Mosque. Emergency services remain accessible through the 997 hotline and the 'Asefne' mobile application, which offers features like location tracking, distress call functionality, and information on nearby health facilities and emergency resources.
