Maan Programme Wins Prestigious Arab Awards for Innovation and Prevention

Manama: The Maan (Together) Programme Against Violence and Addiction has been awarded top honors in two categories at the Arab Intelligence and Creativity Award, recognizing its significant contributions in prevention, innovation, research, and development.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the programme has achieved victory in the educational and academic sectors category for its Maan curriculum. This preventive education programme is designed to instill positive values, enhance decision-making skills, and raise awareness about the risks associated with violence, addiction, and hazardous behavior among young people.

In addition, the programme excelled in the applied personal innovation category with its EAST Strategic Planning System. Developed by the Maan Research and Training Centre, this system is a practical framework designed to aid institutional planning by transforming ideas and initiatives into measurable implementation plans.

The awards were received by Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the Maan Programme Against Violence and Addiction Committee, during a ceremony at the Maan Research and Training Centre.

Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman expressed that this achievement underscores the unwavering support of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, towards prevention and awareness programmes. It also highlights the ministry's dedication to fostering innovation, scientific research, and community security initiatives.

He praised the programme's research team for their professional efforts, noting that the recognition reflects the national workforce's competence and the programme's capability to convert practical expertise into research and knowledge initiatives that bolster institutional excellence.
