Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 1,769 inspection campaigns and visits from February 23 to March 1, resulting in the detention of 22 violating and irregular workers, while 87 violators were deported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in the monitoring of several violations related to the provisions of several regulating laws, especially the LMRA and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations.

The LMRA detailed that 1,755 inspection visits were conducted on various shops across all governorates, along with 14 joint inspection campaigns. These included seven campaigns in the Capital Governorate, two in the Muharraq Governorate, one in the Northern Governorate, and four in the Southern Governorate.

The government entities involved in the campaigns included the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the Governorate's respective Police Directorate, the Coast Guard Headquarters, and the Community Police Services. Additionally, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Supreme Council for Environment, and the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, represented by the Maritime Control Department and the Marine Fishing Ports Directorate, participated in the efforts.

The Authority emphasized the continuation of joint coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns in all governorates of the Kingdom. The aim is to address any violations or practices that negatively affect the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm the economic and social security of the Kingdom.

The LMRA reiterated its call to all members of society to support government agencies' efforts in addressing illegal labour practices.
