Manama: Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), issued Decision No. 4 of 2024, amending Article (6) of Decision No. 3 of 2014 regarding the regulation of manpower agency licenses. The amendment requires licensed agencies to deposit BHD 150 per work permit issued as insurance in addition to the work permit fee. According to Bahrain News Agency, the LMRA clarified that this decision applies only to licensed manpower agencies providing labourers on a temporary contract basis, whether hourly, daily, monthly, or yearly. The insurance amount is specifically designated to cover repatriation costs for foreign workers hired by these licensed supply agencies.
