LMRA Receives US Congress Delegation on Labour Market Initiatives

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) recently welcomed a delegation from the United States Congress, which included members from both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation was informed about Bahrain's strategies to enhance the sustainability of labour market development efforts and ensure the protection of all stakeholders' rights. A significant focus was placed on the improved Wage Protection System, which guarantees the electronic payment of workers' wages through financial and banking institutions connected to the LMRA system.

The visiting delegation also received a comprehensive presentation on Bahrain's measures to combat trafficking in persons. The discussion highlighted the role of the Expat Protection Centre, which offers extensive services such as preventive support, legal counselling, and shelter for victims or those at risk of exploitation.
