LMRA Hosts US Congress Delegation to Discuss Labour Market Initiatives

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) in Bahrain recently hosted a delegation from the United States Congress, which included members from both the House of Representatives and the Senate. The meeting focused on Bahrain's initiatives aimed at promoting the sustainability of labour market development and protecting the rights of all involved parties.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation was briefed on various initiatives, including the enhanced Wage Protection System and the development of the Regional Training Centre for Combating Trafficking in Persons. These efforts underscore Bahrain's commitment to safeguarding labour rights and addressing issues related to trafficking.

The delegation also received a detailed presentation on Bahrain's efforts to combat trafficking in persons. The role of the Expat Protection Centre, which provides comprehensive services such as preventive support, legal counselling, and shelter for victims or individuals at risk, was highlighted during the discussions.

Additionally, the meeting emphasized awareness programmes and initiatives implemented by the LMRA in collaboration with international organizations and diplomatic missions. These efforts aim to strengthen Bahrain's comprehensive approach to combat human trafficking and ensure the protection of rights within the labour market. Continuous coordination and partnerships with relevant national and international entities were identified as key components of these initiatives.
