LMRA Executes Over 1,300 Inspection Campaigns and Visits in Bahrain

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has reported the execution of 1,313 inspection campaigns and visits between April 6 and April 12. These efforts led to the detention of 25 workers for violations and irregularities, while 128 violators were deported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspections also uncovered multiple violations related to the provisions of various regulating laws, particularly the LMRA and Residency Laws in Bahrain. Legal actions were initiated in response to these violations. The LMRA conducted 1,301 inspection visits to shops across all governorates, alongside 12 joint inspection campaigns. These included eight campaigns in the Capital Governorate, one in the Muharraq Governorate, one in the Northern Governorate, and two in the Southern Governorate.

The campaigns saw participation from several government entities, including the Ministry of Interior's Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the respective Police Directorate of each Governorate, the Coast Guard Headquarters, the Supreme Council for Environment, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The LMRA emphasized ongoing coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection efforts across all governorates. The aim is to address violations or practices that could negatively impact the stability and competitiveness of the labor market or harm the Kingdom's economic and social security.

Additionally, the LMRA called on the public to support government efforts in tackling illegal labor practices. Violations can be reported through the electronic form available on the LMRA website at www.lmra.gov.bh, by contacting the call center at 17506055, or via the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
