LMRA Conducts Over 670 Inspection Campaigns in Bahrain

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the execution of 674 inspection campaigns and visits from January 19 to 25, resulting in the detention of 29 violating and irregular workers, and the deportation of 192 violators.

According to Bahrain News Agency, these inspection efforts uncovered numerous violations related to the provisions of several regulatory laws, including the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal actions were taken against those found in breach of these regulations.

The LMRA detailed that 661 inspection visits were conducted across various shops in all governorates, along with 13 joint inspection campaigns. These included eight campaigns in the Capital Governorate, three in the Muharraq Governorate, one in the Northern Governorate, and one in the Southern Governorate.

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the respective Police Directorates of each governorate, and the Social Insurance Organization, collaborated in these campaigns. The LMRA emphasized the ongoing coordination with government agencies to intensify inspections and address violations that could impact the labour market's stability and competitiveness or threaten the Kingdom's economic and social security.

The authority reiterated its appeal to the public to support government efforts in combating illegal labour practices. Citizens are encouraged to report violations via the electronic form on the authority's website, www.lmra.gov.bh, by calling the authority's call centre at 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
