LMRA Conducts Over 1,000 Inspection Campaigns in Bahrain

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has reported the execution of 1,089 inspection campaigns and visits between August 3 and 9. These efforts led to the detention of 10 workers found to be violating regulations, and the deportation of 130 violators.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection activities uncovered several violations related to the Kingdom of Bahrain's regulatory laws, particularly those under the LMRA and Residency Laws. Legal actions have been initiated in response to these violations.

The LMRA carried out 1,076 inspection visits to various shops across all governorates. Additionally, 13 joint inspection campaigns were conducted, with the Capital Governorate hosting one campaign, the Muharraq Governorate three, the Northern Governorate four, and the Southern Governorate five.

Government entities such as the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), and respective Police Directorates, alongside the Social Insurance Organisation, participated in these campaigns.

The LMRA emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with government agencies to enhance inspection efforts across the Kingdom. The aim is to address violations and practices that could disrupt the labour market's stability and competitiveness or compromise Bahrain's economic and social security.

The LMRA urged the public to support governmental efforts in curbing illegal labour practices. Violations can be reported via an electronic form on the LMRA's website, by calling the call centre at 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
