Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 784 inspection campaigns and visits, from April 27 to May 3, resulting in the detention of 18 violating and irregular workers, while 116 violators were deported.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns and visits also led to the monitoring of several violations related to the provisions of various regulating laws, particularly the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations.
The authority highlighted that 774 inspection visits were carried out on multiple shops across all governorates, in addition to 10 joint inspection campaigns. These included 7 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 2 in the Northern Governorate, and 1 in the Southern Governorate.
The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), and the Governorate's respective Police Directorate, participated in these campaigns.
The Authority emphasized the ongoing coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns throughout the Kingdom. The goal is to address any violations or practices that could negatively affect the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm the economic and social security of the Kingdom.
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority reiterated its call to all members of society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices. They can report violations via the electronic form on the authority's website www.lmra.gov.bh, by calling the authority's call centre at 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
