LMRA Conducts 598 Inspection Campaigns, Resulting in Detentions and Deportations

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 598 inspection campaigns and visits from January 5-11, leading to the detention of 18 violating and irregular workers, while 88 violators were deported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns and visits also uncovered several violations related to the provisions of various regulating laws, particularly the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal actions were taken concerning the observed violations.

The LMRA reported that 588 inspection visits were conducted at different shops across all governorates, along with 10 joint inspection campaigns. These included 6 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 2 in the Muharraq Governorate, 1 in the Southern Governorate, and 1 in the Northern Governorate.

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) and the Governorate's Respective Police Directorate, collaborated in the campaign.

The Authority emphasized the ongoing coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns across the Kingdom's governorates, aiming to address violations or practices that could negatively impact the labour market's stability and competitiveness or harm the Kingdom's economic and social security.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority reiterated its appeal to the community to support government efforts in combating illegal labour practices. They urged the public to report violations via the electronic form on the authority's website www.lmra.gov.bh, by calling the authority's call centre at 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
