Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the completion of 1,344 inspection campaigns and visits from 27 October to 2 November 2024, resulting in the detention of 30 irregular workers and the deportation of 197 violators. According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspections revealed multiple breaches related to various regulatory laws, particularly the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with legal actions taken against observed violations. The LMRA reported that 1,316 inspection visits were conducted across shops in all governorates, in addition to 28 joint campaigns; 17 in the Capital Governorate, 5 in Muharraq, 2 in the Northern Governorate, and 4 in the Southern Governorate. Participating government entities included the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), respective Police Directorates, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Evidence, the General Directorate of Ve rdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, alongside the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority. The LMRA affirmed the ongoing coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns across Bahrain's governorates and address violations or practices that could undermine the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm the Kingdom's economic and social security. The LMRA renewed its appeal to the public to support government efforts against illegal labour practices by reporting violations through the electronic form on its website at www.lmra.gov.bh, by contacting the call centre at 17506055, or via the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
