Manama: The Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), led by Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs, convened its regular meeting through videoconference. The meeting was attended by board members and Nibras Mohammed Talib, the Chief Executive Officer of LMRA.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the board examined its agenda, focusing on the progress of national and strategic plans designed to enhance the work environment and bolster regulatory and oversight measures, including the Government Programme and the National Labour Market Plan. The board also assessed initiatives to develop policies and procedures that align with economic changes and sectoral needs, aimed at boosting the national economy's competitiveness and appeal to investors.
The LMRA Chief Executive Officer presented a comprehensive report on the authority's activities during the first half of 2026. He reported that LMRA carried out over 21,000 inspection visits to various establishments and commercial markets. Additionally, 625 joint inspection campaigns were conducted in collaboration with relevant government entities. Talib also emphasized ongoing efforts to redesign procedures and integrate digital systems with government databases, noting that electronic services constituted 85% of all services provided in the first half of 2026, indicating a significant rise in digital adoption among customers.
