Manama: Yousef bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, met with Gilbert Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), during his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting centered on strategies to bolster cooperation between Bahrain and the ILO, especially in utilizing the organization's expertise through its technical assistance programmes available to member states.
According to Bahrain News Agency, discussions during the meeting highlighted several key areas of interest, including improving occupational safety and health standards, promoting social dialogue among the three production parties, enhancing working environments, and increasing productivity. These initiatives aim to support the ongoing development of Bahrain's labour market in alignment with international labour standards.
